P\u016fvab tkv\u00ed v tom, \u017ee dok\u00e1\u017eeme vytvo\u0159it obraz bez mechanick\u00e9ho h\u00fdb\u00e1n\u00ed na objekt. Tato funkce se naz\u00fdv\u00e1 syntetick\u00e1 clona. V\u00fdsledn\u00fd sn\u00edmek vypad\u00e1 jako \u0161achovnice s osv\u011btlen\u00fdmi \u010dtverci, ale tento z\u00e1kladn\u00ed obraz s n\u00edzk\u00fdm rozli\u0161en\u00edm je jen prvn\u00edm krokem. Schopnost za\u0159\u00edzen\u00ed manipulovat s p\u0159\u00edchoz\u00edmi sv\u011bteln\u00fdmi vlnami je tak p\u0159esn\u00e1 a rychl\u00e1, \u017ee teoreticky dok\u00e1\u017ee zachytit stovky r\u016fzn\u00fdch druh\u016f obraz\u016f v jak\u00e9mkoli sv\u011btle, v\u010detn\u011b infra\u010derven\u00e9ho z\u00e1\u0159en\u00ed, b\u011bhem n\u011bkolika sekund.  Apar\u00e1t s takov\u00fdmi vlastnostmi je mimo\u0159\u00e1dn\u011b v\u00fdkonn\u00fd a siln\u00fd. Aby m\u011bla b\u011b\u017en\u00e1 kamera stejn\u00fd v\u00fdkon, je nutn\u00e9 pou\u017e\u00edt velmi velk\u00fd objektiv, kter\u00fd zaru\u010d\u00ed vysokou fokusaci sv\u011btla. \u010co\u010dky p\u0159\u00edtomn\u00e9 ve fotoapar\u00e1tech a kamer\u00e1ch jsou zhotoveny ze skla a t\u00edm obrazu dod\u00e1vaj\u00ed zkreslen\u00e9 barvy, kter\u00e9 jsou sice pouh\u00fdm okem neviditeln\u00e9, ale p\u0159i bli\u017e\u0161\u00edm zkoum\u00e1n\u00ed je odli\u0161nost obrazu a objektu znateln\u00e1. Tenk\u00e1 kamera tento probl\u00e9m nem\u00e1. Dal\u0161\u00ed f\u00e1ze v\u00fdzkumu chce zv\u011bt\u0161it po\u010det sv\u011bteln\u00fdch p\u0159ij\u00edma\u010d\u016f p\u0159ipadaj\u00edc\u00edch na jednu vrstvu kamery.
